Vitest Testing Suite FAQs

Question 1

Can it help me migrate from Jest?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. It identifies Jest dependencies, replaces them with Vitest equivalents, updates your TypeScript config, and provides a mapping for common Jest functions to Vitest's 'vi' utility.

Question 2

Will it install the necessary dependencies?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it detects your preferred package manager (pnpm, npm, yarn, or bun) and generates the correct commands to install Vitest, coverage providers, and environment-specific plugins.

Question 3

Does it support Cloudflare Workers?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it includes specialized support for @cloudflare/vitest-pool-workers, automatically configuring the correct test environment and wrangler bindings.

Question 4

Does this skill work with existing Vite projects?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it detects existing vite.config.ts files and extends them with the necessary Vitest configurations rather than overwriting your existing settings.

Question 5

Where are the sample tests located?

Accepted Answer

The skill generates sample tests alongside your actual source code to demonstrate project-specific patterns, such as testing React components or Hono API routes, rather than using generic examples.
