Magpie Search acts as a sophisticated, local-first search engine specifically designed for AI agents and LLMs, ensuring they never lose context or information. Unlike traditional search, it takes a single query and fans it out across up to six distinct sources—including AI conversation history, local files, a structured knowledge graph, a vector store, and the live web—and then intelligently fuses the results. Each result is ranked with a trust tier (fact > reference > lead > stale) using trust-weighted Reciprocal Rank Fusion, ensuring the AI receives reliable, deduplicated information trimmed to fit its context window, all while maintaining privacy as it runs entirely on the local machine.
