This MCP server seamlessly integrates ObsPy's powerful seismology capabilities with Claude Desktop, empowering the AI to directly interact with seismic data. Developed at the request of Professor Weiqiang Zhu at UC Berkeley, it allows Claude to search earthquake catalogs, locate seismic stations, download waveforms, metadata, and plots, and even estimate phase arrival times, significantly enhancing its ability to assist in geophysical research and analysis.
