RLM provides a specialized server that empowers Claude Code to process and analyze files far exceeding its native context window limitations. By implementing MIT's Recursive Language Models, it treats large files as an 'external environment,' executing Python code on them via a REPL and returning only the relevant results to Claude. This approach dramatically reduces token usage while maintaining accuracy, allowing Claude Code to perform complex analyses, aggregations, and multi-pattern searches on massive datasets up to 10GB+, transforming Claude from a brain into a powerful analytical engine that can interact with an external computational environment.
