Does this skill require the GitHub CLI (gh)?

The GitHub CLI is only required if you use the --link-issues flag to create new issues for orphaned documents. Core ID syncing and manifest updates work without it.

What happens if a document already has an ID?

The skill scans the frontmatter; if an ID exists, it validates it against the manifest registry. If the ID is mismatched (e.g., an ADR number doesn't match its filename), it will report a mismatch for you to review.

Can I preview changes before they are applied?

Yes, using the --dry-run flag allows you to see exactly which IDs will be assigned and which files will be modified without actually writing any changes to disk.

Where are the document IDs stored?

IDs are stored both in the frontmatter of individual Markdown files and in a centralized docs/blueprint/manifest.json file for easy programmatic access.
