Promptbook Doctor FAQs

Question 1

How do I run the Promptbook Doctor?

Accepted Answer

You can trigger the diagnostic suite by typing '/doctor' or 'check promptbook health' within your Claude Code terminal session.

Question 2

What does a warning in 'Activity' mean?

Accepted Answer

A warning in the Activity section indicates that no recent session files were found. This may suggest that hooks are not firing correctly, and you should try starting a new Claude Code session.

Question 3

Is my API key displayed in the diagnostic report?

Accepted Answer

No. The doctor skill is designed to verify the key's validity using background processes (Node.js and curl) without ever printing the sensitive key to your terminal output.

Question 4

What should I do if the API Key check fails?

Accepted Answer

If the doctor reports an '✗ API Key' failure, it usually means your key is invalid or expired. You should run the '/setup' command again to refresh your credentials.

Question 5

Do I need an internet connection to use this skill?

Accepted Answer

Yes, an active internet connection is required specifically for the API key verification step to communicate with the Promptbook authentication servers.
