MCPvil is a specialized Wayland compositor, forked from Smithay's smallvil, designed to facilitate interaction with AI agents and other Model Context Protocol (MCP) clients. It integrates an MCP server, enabling external clients to control compositor functionalities, such as launching applications and capturing screenshots, directly over standard I/O using the newline-delimited JSON-RPC protocol. This setup provides a programmatic interface for automating desktop interactions in a Wayland environment.
