The x402engine-mcp acts as a Micro-payment Controlled Protocol (MCP) server, enabling AI agents to access a vast array of 38 pay-per-call APIs via the x402 Engine. This server facilitates micropayments using USDC on Base/Solana or USDm on MegaETH, with prices ranging from $0.001 to $0.12 per call. It integrates seamlessly with AI agent platforms like Claude Desktop and Claude Code, allowing agents to perform tasks such as chat completion with various LLM models, generate images, execute code in sandboxed environments, transcribe audio, create text embeddings, query crypto and blockchain data, scrape web content, capture screenshots, and pin/retrieve data from IPFS. Payments are handled via a robust protocol where agents receive a 402 Payment Required response, then pay on-chain, and the gateway verifies the payment before returning the requested data.
