Project Pre-Mortem
Conducts Gary Klein-style project pre-mortems to surface critical failure modes, score risks, and define early mitigations before launch.
The Project Pre-Mortem skill implements Gary Klein's prospective hindsight methodology to stress-test initiatives before resources are committed. By assuming a project has already flopped, the skill strips away default optimism and systematically generates distinct failure modes across execution, demand, tech dependencies, stakeholders, and data. Each risk is evaluated on a likelihood × impact matrix, capped to the top actionable threats, and paired with leading early-warning indicators, owner assignments, and pre-committed tripwire reactions. It is ideal for engineering leads, product managers, and teams preparing for quarter kickoffs, critical feature releases, or major architectural migrations.
