Trellis provides a streamlined interface between AI assistants and the TRELLIS model, a lightweight and open-source text-to-3D/image-to-3D solution, using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). It allows users to generate 3D assets from natural language prompts. Unlike other integrations, it boasts faster performance and lower memory requirements, enabling local deployment with only 8GB+ VRAM and generating textured meshes from text in approximately 15 seconds. While it requires self-deployment of the TRELLIS API backend and may have some stability issues due to the API/Prompt not being fully tested/tuned, it offers a free alternative to expensive API services.
